Permit The Snapper
Snappers are always a fishing favorite during a Miami inshore fishing charter and Capt. Mo has been very successful at targeting the larger mutton snapper with great regularity.
If you want to have a great time fishing for less technical fish species that both adults and kids truly enjoy, Capt. Mo has the experience and personality to make your day on the water a fun and productive one during one of his inshore fishing charters in Miami.
Several species of snappers are found in Biscayne Bay such as the mangrove/gray snapper, yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper, lane snapper and the vermilion snapper. While the lane and vermilion snappers are the smallest of the snapper family found in Biscayne Bay, the mutton snapper is by far the largest.
Mutton snappers reside in Biscayne Bay throughout the year and will average 10” to 6lbs. However, it is when the water temperatures cool during the fall and winter that the larger mutton snapper move into the shallows of Biscayne Bay and 8-10lb fish become more common. The mutton snapper is the trophy fish of the snapper family in Biscayne Bay because of their beautiful coloration, hard fight and great table quality. The mangrove snapper are also plentiful in Biscayne Bay with some real 5lb plus trophies caught on occasion. Mangrove snappers are aggressive, hard fighting fish that good table fare and are sought after by many bottom fishermen.
